Business Breakfast Series

Mid-Maine Chamber’s Business Breakfast Series is a monthly series of presentations on a variety of educational business topics. The breakfasts are held from 7:15-9:00 AM on Thursday mornings at the Best Western Plus, Waterville.

Cost per person: $23 members; $29 at the door and non-members.

January 12:  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Panel: Understanding and Addressing Racism and Bias in the Workplace. Panelists: Ella Bowman, Oakland Town Manager; Stefanie Trice Gill, Principal/Diversity Recruiter, IntWork, LLC; Thomas College Professor of Education Dr. Richard Biffle.

February 9: Demystifying Networking: The Secret Sauce to Careers. Bangor Savings Bank SVP, Director– Talent, Diversity & Inclusion, David Pease will present on exploring the benefits of professional networking, 10 tips/strategies to build stronger professional networks and practice networking.

March 9: Your Employment Brand, Company Culture and Developing a Recruiting Process That Delivers Top Candidates: ProSearch Recruiting will present on developing /enhancing your employment brand to attract more top talent, discuss company culture, interviewing candidates to ensure qualification and fit for your team.

April 13: The Struggle is Real: Looking at Employee Mental Health: Leslie Lennig of Community Health & Counseling will address mental health issues in the workplace due to stressors on employees such as             pandemics, inflation and general national unrest. Explore how employers can support your workforce.

May 11: Building Brand Loyalty and Discovering Your Audience (Session I): Trampoline Adv. Managing Partners Paula and Derek Slayton will cover audience communications, brand consistency, measuring and tracking marketing performance through Google Analytics, and how to use that information to benefit your marketing.

Sept. 14: Building Brand Loyalty—Session II: Trampoline Adv. Managing Partners Paula and Derek Slayton will discuss marketing benchmarks and tactics to determine the audience tuning in to your message and responding. More in-depth Google Analytics follow up and tactics will show the benefits of tracking feedback, emphasizing what’s working and adjusting what isn’t for your organization.

Oct. 5: Legislative Topic: TBD.

Nov. 2: The Nature of Conflict: Conflict Resolution in the Workplace.  Terri Swanson of Swanson Consulting & Associates, LLC will discuss conflicts in organizations, recognizing that conflict in and of itself is not a bad thing. It is the diversity which people bring to the situation that affects the outcome.

Dec. 14: Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship: Resources and experiences in developing a small business. Speaker to be determined.
