With the new Alfond-Lunder Family Pavilion, expanded collection, and vibrant exhibition program, the Colby Museum, and consequently Waterville, is a destination to experience great art.

The Museum serves as a central site for intellectual engagement, artistic contemplation, and social activity. As a primary teaching resource for the College and the greater community, the Museum sits at the crossroads of interdisciplinary thinking and facilitates stimulating encounters between students, faculty, and community members who share the liberal arts experience.

Educare Central Maine

Educare Central Maine is a comprehensive early learning and development center in Waterville, Maine, providing child care and preschool options to families with children birth to age five.  As part of the Educare Learning Network — one of the nation’s most effective early childhood education programs –we make sure financially disadvantaged young children have the best possible chance for success in life.  Our approach extends beyond the classrooms to help children, families and communities thrive with our Lab School & Learning Hub professional development and technical assistance offerings.

Finance Authority of Maine

To meet the financing needs of Maine’s business community, FAME offers a wide array of business assistance programs, ranging from traditional loan insurance programs for both small and larger businesses, to investment tax credits. FAME has also established taxable and tax-exempt bond financing programs that allow strong, creditworthy firms in Maine to access capital at favorable rates and terms.

FAME also administers Maine’s higher education finance programs. Through a variety of loan, grant and scholarship programs, FAME helps Maine students and families meet the costs associated with higher education. To aid in this important effort, FAME also oversees an extensive outreach and counseling program that is designed to encourage young people to aspire to and pursue higher education. FAME is also the administrator for the state’s Section 529 Plan—NextGen 529®.

Welcome to Happy Days Childcare and Learning Center! We are a center located in Winslow, Maine serving families with children ages 6 weeks – 12 years old. We are excited that you are here!

Meet the owners….Jennifer Stevens and Rae Ann Lajoie. Jennifer comes to this field with a passion for children that has been with her since she was a child herself. She has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelors Degree in Mental Health and Human Services and a Masters Degree in Social Work. She owns a private practice for counseling in Waterville and also has supported many families as a Guardian ad Litem. Rae Ann has over 30 years in retail and management and brings with her the expertise of food and nutrition along with excellent people skills. Serving the community is an important piece for both Jennifer and Rae Ann and they believe that providing a superior childcare center is what is next for them in being able to provide. Between Jennifer and Rae Ann they have 7 grandchildren and are active in their lives. Giving children the very best beginning in life is very important to both of them!

Kennebec Montessori School (Ages 3-9)

At our location in Fairfield, we recently completed the construction of a new wing and expanded our programs through sixth grade. We now offer Primary and Elementary Montessori programs to over 120 children from ages 3 to 12. Our classrooms are all multi-age: three Primary classrooms (ages 3-6), two Lower Elementary classrooms (ages 6-9) and our new Upper Elementary classroom (ages 9-12).

The school stands on 14 acres of fields and woodlands, with a stream and beautiful views, convenient to Interstate 95. Children can cross-country ski in winter and garden in the spring and summer sessions. There is a large playground that overlooks an adjoining farm. The facilities are bright and cheerful. The classrooms and the day care room each have their own bathroom, kitchen unit, and door to the outside playground and gardens.

Students come from diverse backgrounds, bringing together the families of teachers, farmers, artists, professionals and business people. Many commute from surrounding communities, including Pittsfield, Clinton, Freedom, Skowhegan, Belgrade, China, Vassalboro, and Augusta.

Kennebec Valley Community College

Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) is a 2-year comprehensive community college in mid-Maine serving students from Somerset, Kennebec, and Knox counties and well beyond.  KVCC has two campuses in the heart of Central Maine – our 70-acre Fairfield Campus which is readily accessible by I-95 and our 600-acre Harold Alfond Campus just seven miles north. Between these two campuses and our two-satellite campuses; the Buker Center in Augusta and Mid-Coast School of Technology in Rockland, KVCC offers 30 degree programs ranging from Nursing to Allied Health to Trades & Technology, as well as credentials in Mental Health, Liberal Studies, Business Administration, Early Childhood, Biology, General Studies, and Psychology. Maine Children’s Home

The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers features a full Hague-accredited adoption program that provides assistance to families hoping to adopt internationally or domestically. The Maine Children’s Home, founded in 1899, gives children and Maine families hope for the future and a chance at a better life. In addition to the adoption program, the agency offers outpatient counseling, the Journey Program, outdoor adventure program, and a Christmas Program that provides clothing and toys to Maine children.

Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education

The Mid-­Maine Regional Adult Community Education program strives to provide affordable, quality, continuing education opportunities that meet the academic, professional and personal interests of the residents of Belgrade, China, Oakland, Rome, Sidney, Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow. Through the collaborative efforts of these school districts and community agencies we are able to offer a vast array of programs and classes that welcome adults with varying needs and interests.

Maine is known as “Vacationland,” and it’s easy to see why, with access to mountains, islands, beaches, rocky cliffs and some of the nation’s best food, arts, and cultural amenities. Waterville is located a little more than an hour from Maine’s biggest city, Portland, which offers students many opportunities for entertainment, internships, and field trips. We’re also close to metropolitan areas including Lewiston/Auburn, Bangor, and Augusta, the state’s capitol city. We benefit from our close access to these urban areas, but it’s easy to get away into nature from here—come visit us and experience Waterville and beyond for yourself!
