At our location in Fairfield, we recently completed the construction of a new wing and expanded our programs through sixth grade. We now offer Primary and Elementary Montessori programs to over 120 children from ages 3 to 12. Our classrooms are all multi-age: three Primary classrooms (ages 3-6), two Lower Elementary classrooms (ages 6-9) and our new Upper Elementary classroom (ages 9-12).

The school stands on 14 acres of fields and woodlands, with a stream and beautiful views, convenient to Interstate 95. Children can cross-country ski in winter and garden in the spring and summer sessions. There is a large playground that overlooks an adjoining farm. The facilities are bright and cheerful. The classrooms and the day care room each have their own bathroom, kitchen unit, and door to the outside playground and gardens.
Students come from diverse backgrounds, bringing together the families of teachers, farmers, artists, professionals and business people. Many commute from surrounding communities, including Pittsfield, Clinton, Freedom, Skowhegan, Belgrade, China, Vassalboro, and Augusta.
Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) is a 2-year comprehensive community college in the center of Maine serving approximately 2400 students from Somerset, Kennebec, and Knox counties and well beyond. In 2014, KVCC expanded its Fairfield-based operation to include a new 600-acre Harold Alfond Campus in Hinckley, Maine. Over the past four years, KVCC has invested nearly $30 million in college programs, infrastructure, and buildings including construction of the new KVCC Center for Science and Agricultural Education, the 120-acre organic farm at KVCC (including education facility, vegetable processing center, equipment, implements, systems, soils, livestock, greenhouses, shelters, fields), a new state-of-the-art culinary arts facility and demonstration kitchen, the largest carpentry lab in the northeast, an indoor electrical lineworker training facility, two medical simulation labs, an early childhood outdoor family education lab, a CNC machine tool lab, a welding lab, and many other important updates including a vast overhaul of IT equipment, software, and computers. KVCC’s new Alfond Campus and the revitalized Fairfield campus offer an unparalleled environment for inspiring new academic energy and innovative thinking. KVCC is a collegial environment emphasizing student success and respect for employees, students, and the community.

The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers features a full Hague-accredited adoption program that provides assistance to families hoping to adopt internationally or domestically. The Maine Children’s Home, founded in 1899, gives children and Maine families hope for the future and a chance at a better life. In addition to the adoption program, the agency offers outpatient counseling, the Teen Parent School Program, The Children’s Place Early Care and Education Center, a summer camp scholarship program, and a Christmas Program that provides clothing and toys to underprivileged Maine children.
The Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education program strives to provide affordable, quality, continuing education opportunities that meet the academic, professional and personal interests of the residents of Belgrade, China, Oakland, Rome, Sidney, Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow. Through the collaborative efforts of these school districts and community agencies we are able to offer a vast array of programs and classes that welcome adults with varying needs and interests.
