Oakhurst Dairy

The Natural Goodness of Maine
It’s about more than milk.
Life in Maine isn’t always easy. The winters are long and the summers are short. But we’ve always made the most of all we have. And providing fresh, local food is part of our heritage.

From the original Oakhurst Dairy, founded by the Bennett family on Woodford Street in Portland in 1921, to the modern 100% farmer-owned dairy on Forest Avenue in Portland, Oakhurst has always stood for The Natural Goodness of Maine. It’s about more than milk. It’s about standing up for what you believe, and doing what’s right.

The Natural Goodness of Maine is our heartfelt pledge to not only offer you the freshest products day in and day out, but to conduct business transparently, in ways that honor our customers, the environment and our responsibility to next generation. All of our milk comes from local Maine farmers who took the first farmers pledge to keep artificial growth hormone out of our milk. That now-famous fight with Monsanto was the right thing to do then, and stands today as an example of our dedication to doing what’s right – even when it’s hard.

Today we extend this commitment by reducing our environmental impact, keeping our footprints as small as possible, and finding ways to support healthy active kids. It’s a long journey we are all on. We thank you for supporting local food. We thank you for supporting quality. And we thank you for choosing Oakhurst. It’s about more than milk.

Pepsi Co.

Wholesale and Distribution
In 1965, Donald Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, and Herman Lay, the CEO of Frito-Lay, recognized what they called “a marriage made in heaven,” a single company delivering perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth. Their vision led to what quickly became one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies: PepsiCo.

For more than 50 years, as tastes, trends and lifestyles have changed, PepsiCo has evolved with them. Our willingness to adapt and grow has transformed our snack and soda company into a collection of global brands including Pepsi and Quaker, Gatorade and Tropicana, Frito-Lay and beyond. Today, PepsiCo is one of the world’s most-respected companies with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories and 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.

PepsiCo is also celebrated for its commitment to doing business the right way, integrating Purpose into our business strategy. In 2019, we adopted a new vision: to Be the Global Leader in Convenient Foods and Beverages by Winning with Purpose. Winning with Purpose is the next chapter in our purpose agenda and conveys our belief that sustainability can be an even greater contributor to our success in the marketplace.

Our company is made up of six divisions: PepsiCo Beverages North America; Frito-Lay North America; Quaker Foods North America; Latin America; Europe Sub-Saharan Africa; and Asia, Middle East and North Africa. Each of these divisions has its own unique history and way of doing business.
The roots of PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) go back to 1898, when Caleb Bradham, an entrepreneur from New Bern, North Carolina created Pepsi-Cola and began offering it to his pharmacy customers.

Sweet Mama Produce

We Grow and Distribute fruit with no B.S.

Our philosophy to the business is simple; focus on the fruit and the customers while respecting the earth and all else will follow. That is why we do what we do without cutting corners. Quality is paramount to the success of our business and the happiness of our customers. If the fruit does not meet our exceptionally high standards, we don’t ship it. As we always say, “we aren’t in the business of growing watermelon because we are in the business of raising it”. Full transparency. No B.S.
Oh. And the meaning behind the name…
That’s what you heard when you called Paul’s phone. Greeting or Voicemail, that didn’t matter. It was always “TALK TO ME SWEET MAMA!”Carr and George thought it was catchy and the rest was history.
