Need to declutter your overflowing crafting stash? You can clear out those shelves and find your next great hobby at our first ever craft supply swap on Saturday, November 22!

From Monday, October 20 through Friday, November 15, we’ll be collecting gently used or unwanted craft supplies. We will not be accepting donations outside of those dates. Donations can be dropped off at the library during all hours of operation. The Library reserves the right to turn items away based on staff or volunteer discretion.

Registration is not required for this program. You do not have to donate materials in order to come to the swap, although it is strongly encouraged. Any leftover materials will be left for the library to distribute or use.

Some ideas of what to bring:

  • Yarn: All types and colors welcome!
  • Fabric: Scraps, remnants, and even whole pieces are appreciated.
  • Sewing notions: Thread, trim/binding, zippers, buttons, etc.
  • Beads: Glass, wood, plastic – the more variety, the better!
  • Paints: Acrylics, watercolors, and even fabric paints.
  • Paper: Cardstock, scrapbook paper, construction paper – get creative!
  • Crafting Tools: Scissors, rulers, glue guns, and other useful tools.
  • And much more! Odds and ends welcome!

Notes:

  • Tools must be are clean and in working order, instruction manuals included if possible.
  • Paint and glue must have lids and be at least half full.
  • We are not accepting any spray paint, or any other type of sprays

Rules on the day of the Swap:

  • We will be limiting people to 2 bags of supplies that they can take home. Note that if we don’t receive many supplies, we will need to drop the limit down to 1 bag. This rule will be strictly enforced!
  • We ask that people do not take the complete stock of an entire category. For example, don’t take every book of scrapbooking paper.
