This Icelandic film from Baltasar Kormákur made the shortlist in the 2025 Best International Feature Film Oscar competition. It tells a romantic and thrilling story that spans several decades, three countries, two oceans, and a world war. Kristófer is an aging and ailing widower who decides to devote his dwindling lifespan retracing the steps of his youth working in a restaurant to find his first love who disappeared from his life 50 years earlier. That is just the starting point for his journey.
