Bargaining Unit/Salary Level Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees. Confidential Unit; level 3, Budgeted Salary Range: $52,328 - $68,204.
Responsibilities The Payroll Manager will be serving as the primary contact responsible for preparation and processing of payroll ensuring accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll for all employees covered in five (5) collective bargaining units, confidential employees, student workers, and contracted employees. This position is responsible for the collection and verification of college personnel records. This is professional work which provides employee onboarding and orientation, guidance to employees who are leaving college employ, administration of benefits, worker’s compensation, and assistance to employees within established authority regarding confidential matters. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; a minimum of four (4) years of office experience that includes payroll and/or human resources; equivalent work experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Federal and State wage and hour laws and HR benefit information Knowledge of personnel administration and payroll compensation procedures Strong communication skills both oral and written, understand and apply instructions, and ability to deal effectively with people and to work independently Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements Why work for the Maine Community College System?
