The Waterville Public Library located in Waterville, Maine, currently accepting applications for a part-time Library Assistant. This is a part-time, 8-15 hour per week position. Library Assistant (part-time)
Library Assistants staff the Library’s service desks, contribute to collection and facility tidiness, may participate in processing library materials, support library programs and services, and perform other duties as assigned. Provides friendly, polite, and resourceful service to patrons of all ages
Serves as a kind, positive, and proactive Library team member
Assists patrons in getting and using library cards
Helps patrons locate books and other materials in print and online
Helps patrons use computers, copier, printer, and other technology
Answers questions in person and by telephone
Performs small cash transactions
Records use data consistently and accurately 
Maintains confidentiality
Utilizes technologies that support library functions
Assists with processing library materials and collection maintenance
Supports library programs
Helps to keep the Library safe and tidy
Performs other duties as assigned

8-15 hours per week part-time Library Assistant position available. Schedule blocks to cover include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Pay for this position is $14.50 per hour. Paid time off is available.
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of (1) year of previous paid work experience is preferred. Previous experience in customer service and libraries preferred. Working knowledge of computer applications, resources, and technology is necessary. Must be able to perform the basic life operational skills of crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform light work, exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
