Leadership Luncheon

Thursday, April 29 from 11:30 to 1 at Amici’s Cucina, 137 Main St., Waterville

Looking to hear from a real visionary leader?

Dr. Melik Peter Khoury is the President and CEO of Unity College. He holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Maine Fort Kent, an MBA from the University of Maine, and a doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

He is an energetic visionary, passionate about the environment, technology, education and sustainability science.  Under his leadership Unity College has successfully launched The Enterprise Model, which offers traditional and adult students educational opportunities through UC: Distance Education; UC: Hybrid Learning; and UC: Sustainable Ventures.  In the process, Dr. Khoury has begun to break down the traditional barriers associated with higher education – making it more affordable, accessible, flexible and relevant for students locally and around the world.

We are going to keep it going – our Takeout Challenge Contest is designed to assist our restaurants, cafes, and eateries at a time when they need us the most.
Help our eateries keep on keeping on! Grab your friends and enjoy a nice meal at any of our awesome local eateries. Or, for those who may not be comfortable eating inside for the next few weeks until outdoor dining can resume, and would rather be in the comfort of your own home, please consider ordering takeout. Either way, you will be making a difference to those who kept you fed in the past.

Now through Memorial Day, you can enter to win a $25 Damon’s Beverage gift card or a $25 Chamber gift certificate to a local eatery by sending us your dine-in or takeout receipts for food ordered at any of our Chamber member eateries.

It’s easy to enter, and win:

We would love your input – help us help you maintain and grow your business through the upcoming construction period.

Mid-Maine Chamber has encouraged your “constructive” ideas and input on how we can work with you on marketing and promotion ideas to continue to encourage customers to frequent your business before, during, and after construction.

Thank you to those who participated in our initial meeting on March 16. Now, we would like to hold a follow-up meeting to move some of these ideas forward – or consider additional ideas/concepts to develop further. We have multiple marketing partners on board to assist us in pushing out our messages about the positives of continuing to visit Downtown Waterville.

We all know that the upcoming months will be disruptive. However, if we work together to develop some worthwhile promotions and programs, we can assure that customers will continue to engage.

Join our virtual Downtown Construction

Brainstorming Follow-Up

Wednesday, April 14 – 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The meeting will be free and open to downtown businesses and owners, but you will need to register to receive the Zoom link. The link is also included on our website at www.midmainechamber.com. You may also attend in person at the Chamber Boardroom, 50 Elm St., Waterville. Please encourage your business neighbors to participate!

Register to JOIN the meeting here.

We will continue to discuss and share ideas, particularly around promotional programs and marketing – with solutions that work for all businesses. We are in this together, and the combined ingenuity, creativity, and focus of our downtown businesses are what we will need to provide a positive plan for moving forward.

Business-building promotions to attract customers, along with some creative marketing plans are just the tip of the iceberg. We need to hear from you!

The agenda for the meeting will include, but not be limited to:

  • Further discussion of a marketing plan – including traffic-building promotions, external media support, social media communications
  • Additional brainstorming for long-term ideas, solutions, and financial support of the program
  • Getting the word out to all impacted businesses; encouraging participation

Questions? Please call the Chamber at 873-3315, or email cindy@midmainechamber.com

Your Chamber is here for you. Help us help you. Plan to join us on April 14!
