The CWMWDB's vision is a strong, vibrant, sustainable economy that generates growth opportunities for employers and creates high demand-high wage jobs for job seekers. It is a system that promotes active, engaged industry partnerships to create a highly trained, educated, and diverse workforce leading to improved quality of life for the residents of Central/Western Maine.

The CWMWDB administers WIOA Title 1B Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Employment and Training and Emergency Dislocated Worker Programs for Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Oxford and Somerset Counties. Western Maine Community Action is our partner and expert local service provider. They operate at seven designated Career Centers in all five counties. They offer alternative public meeting spaces on request and have remote capability.
WIOA is the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, landmark legislation that is designed to strengthen and improve our nation's public workforce system. WIOA helps the unemployed, including those with significant barriers to employment, to prepare for high-quality jobs. WIOA also assists employers with services and funding to hire and retain skilled workers. Please contact WMCA for information on services.
